About Nick & The A Plus Story
Ever since I was in elementary school, I knew I wanted to own an automotive shop. While other kids were doodling superheroes, I was sketching cars. I drew them constantly lifted trucks, slammed imports, exotic supercars anything with wheels. When I was about eight years old, I even drew out my dream shop. Big bays. Clean floors. Custom cars lined up inside. In my head, it was my version of West Coast Customs, a place where creativity and craftsmanship came together. I did not know it then, but I was foreshadowing my future.
In 2011, I became the very first employee at A Plus. I was not the owner yet, just a driven kid with a dream and a strong work ethic. I tinted, wrapped, cleaned, installed, and learned everything I could. I worked relentlessly and treated the shop as if it were already mine.
Not long after, I was given the opportunity to buy A Plus. It was a risk. I took on debt and bet on myself. By 2013, I had paid off that debt and became the sole owner. From 2013 to 2015, it was just me. I tinted and wrapped vehicles by myself every single day. There was no large team and no big systems in place. Just long hours, constant improvement, and an obsession with doing things the right way.
In 2015, I hired my best friend, Zac Ritter.
Zac and I go way back. We worked together at Churchville McDonalds when we were 14 years old. We are both proud Harford Tech Class of 2012 alumni. We grew up in this community and built our work ethic together from a young age. We were each other’s best men in our weddings, and now we are business partners building something we once only talked about as kids. Together, we became known as the wrap experts. We began wrapping all makes and models from daily drivers to luxury vehicles, exotics, and commercial fleets. If it had panels, we could transform it.
Our reputation grew because we refused to cut corners. We obsessed over details. If something was not perfect, we redid it. We stayed late when needed. We focused on quality and customer service above everything else.
Never sacrificing quality and always going the extra mile is how we stood out from our competitors.
In 2018, we hired Tim Preston as our customer facing sales specialist. Tim helped elevate the client experience by guiding customers through their options, educating them on protection packages, and making sure every client felt confident before their vehicle ever entered the bay.
When Covid hit, many businesses slowed down. We grew substantially. During that time, we expanded our team and hired a full staff of professional tinters and wrap installers to meet demand and better serve our clients.
What started as one person with a squeegee turned into a full team built on craftsmanship, loyalty, and relentless standards. A-Plus is more than a shop. It is a dream that started in an eight year old’s sketchbook. It is two best friends who never stopped working. It is a team that treats every vehicle like it is their own. Quality comes first. Customer experience matters. And we will always continue pushing to be better than yesterday.

Zac becomes co-owner of a-plus.
In 2023, I had the opportunity to do something that meant a lot to me personally and professionally. I gifted Zac a portion of A Plus.
His dedication to helping bring my childhood dream to life never went unnoticed. There were years when things were slow and times when the pressure was heavy. Most people would have jumped ship. Zac never did. He stayed committed, worked through the tough seasons, and helped build the foundation that A Plus stands on today.
Giving Zac a portion of the business was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I cannot think of a better person to stand beside every day as we continue growing what we started together.
hands-on owners
Zac and I have always believed that leadership starts on the shop floor. Even as A Plus has grown, we have never stepped away from the work itself. We still personally wrap vehicles, tint windows, and stay involved in the day to day operations.
We never wanted to become owners who sit behind a desk and lose touch with the craft. Staying hands on keeps us sharp, keeps our standards high, and ensures that every vehicle that leaves our shop meets the level of quality that built our name.
No matter how big A Plus gets, we will always protect what made it successful in the first place — doing the work ourselves and keeping the quality truly A Plus.
